About this policy

Kalek Advisors Pty Ltd (ACN 693 152 251) trading as Startup Sherpa ("we", "us", "our") is

a small business with an annual turnover below $3 million. As such, we are not an "APP

entity" and are not required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) or the Australian

Privacy Principles.

We do, however, take the handling of your personal information seriously. This policy

explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and how you

can contact us if you have questions.

One exception applies: as a Registered Tax Agent, we are bound by the Privacy (Tax File

Number) Rule 2015 in relation to tax file number (TFN) information, regardless of

business size. We handle TFN information strictly in accordance with that Rule.

What information we collect

We may collect personal information including your name, email address, phone

number, business details (such as ABN, business name, and industry), financial and

other information relevant to your engagement, and communications exchanged with

us.

We collect this information when you complete our online scorecard or enquiry form,

when you engage us for services, through the course of our ongoing relationship with

you, and from publicly available sources such as business cards, professional

networking platforms, and business directories where you have made your contact

details available in a commercial context.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and business

coaching services, to communicate with you about your engagement, to meet our

obligations as a Registered Tax Agent and Registered ASIC Agent, and to contact you

about services, resources, events, or other information that we believe may be of

benefit to your business.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own

purposes.

Marketing communications

From time to time we may contact you with information about our services, upcoming

webinars, resources, or other content relevant to running and growing a small

business. We may do this where you have engaged with us directly, provided your

contact details in a business context, or otherwise indicated an interest in what we do.

Every marketing communication we send will include a clear and functional

unsubscribe option. If you opt out, we will remove you from our marketing list

promptly and will not contact you again for marketing purposes.

Opting out of marketing does not affect any communications related to an active

engagement with us.

Overseas storage

We use a number of cloud-based software platforms to deliver our services and run

our business. These platforms may store your personal information on servers located

outside Australia. The platforms we currently use include, but are not limited to, Xero,

DEXT, and HighLevel, among others.

We do not control the data storage practices of these platforms. Each platform

operates under its own published privacy policy, and we rely on those policies in

respect of how your information is handled within each platform. We take reasonable

care in selecting reputable platforms with appropriate privacy and security standards.

Website tracking technologies

Our website may use tracking tools including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google

Analytics. These tools collect information about how visitors find and use our website,

such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and the source of the visit. This

information is used to measure the performance of our marketing and improve our

website.

These tools transmit data to Meta and Google respectively, whose servers are located

overseas. Each platform operates under its own privacy policy.

You can limit tracking by adjusting your browser settings or using browser extensions

designed to block tracking scripts, however some website features may not function as

intended if you do so.

Tax file numbers

We handle TFN information only where legally required. TFN information is used solely

for the purpose for which it was provided, is not disclosed to any third party except as

permitted by law, and is stored and disposed of in accordance with the Privacy (Tax File

Number) Rule 2015.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access,

misuse, or loss. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute

security of information transmitted to us electronically.
